Europe / UK (remote) based, with regular travel to European HQ in Ireland
I’m partnering with a global consumer technology business whose products sell through major retailers worldwide. They’re looking for a senior product leader to take full ownership of one of their most distinctive business units, a connected in-store platform that combines precision hardware, consumables and software. Its biggest and fastest-moving market is Europe.
Why this role stands out
You’ll set the strategy, own the unit economics and lead the product team that delivers it, with real authority to make the calls and see them through. It suits a product leader who is as comfortable in the data and the technical detail as in the boardroom, and who wants a role with genuine general-management scope.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning the business. You’ll be accountable for the unit’s performance: growing output per retail location, improving margins and reducing the cost structure.
- Setting the product vision. You’ll define the product strategy and own the roadmap end to end across hardware, consumables and software, making joined-up decisions across all three.
- Leading a product team. You’ll set priorities, remove blockers and drive delivery day to day, and coach and develop the people around you.
- Making data-driven decisions. You’ll build the metrics, reporting and operating rhythm that keep the unit accountable, and use them to guide pricing, investment and trade-offs.
- Shaping the commercial model. You’ll work with commercial colleagues on pricing, partner strategy and international go-to-market, with Europe as the priority.
- Keeping supply aligned with demand. You’ll work closely with operations and supply chain teams across several countries so hardware, consumables and fulfilment keep pace with growth.
- Raising the service standard. You’ll set and uphold high service standards for retail partners and customers, and introduce value-added services.
- Representing the unit. You’ll present to senior leadership and make the case for the decisions that move the business forward.
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years in hardware / physical product management or product leadership, ideally with full ownership of a product line or business unit
- A product background with technical or analytical depth, gained in hardware, connected devices, retail technology, consumer electronics or similar. An engineering, technical or data-driven product background is ideal.
- Experience making decisions across a combined product stack (physical product, consumables or components, and software)
- Strong command of P&L, forecasting and unit economics, and comfort building the models behind your decisions
- A track record of leading product teams hands-on, not just setting strategy from a distance
- Experience working across EMEA, with a practical understanding of how markets, customers and regulations differ
- Experience working across product, operations, supply chain and technology teams
- Executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- A degree in engineering, business or a related field
Nice to have
- Experience in device accessories, connected retail hardware or similar
- A network across European retail or manufacturing ecosystems
- Experience bridging product or engineering teams and commercial teams
What’s in it for you
- Real general-management scope: your own business unit, team and roadmap
- A senior, visible role in an international consumer tech business
- A flexible, Europe-based set-up with international travel (approx 1 week per month in Ireland)
- The chance to scale a distinctive product in a competitive, fast-moving market
