Job summary

Bentley Systems is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll operations across EMEA with a focus on Western Europe. You will collaborate with local payroll providers and internal teams to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll, resolve issues, and continually improve processes.

You will work with providers to ensure country-specific filings, payments, and reporting are completed on time, while maintaining robust controls and confidentiality of employee data.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting payroll across EMEA, particularly Western Europe.
• Familiarity with country-specific payroll requirements and working with external payroll providers.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across countries and teams.
• High standard of discretion when handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll delivery for assigned countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Serve as the day-to-day contact for local payroll providers and manage SLAs.
• Manage payroll calendars, deadlines, inputs, approvals, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare, validate, and submit payroll changes (hires, terminations, changes, bonuses, deductions).
• Review payroll calculations, registers, reports, and variance analyses for accuracy.
• Reconcile payroll results against HR, Finance, and other data sources; investigate discrepancies.
• Partner with payroll providers and internal stakeholders to resolve errors.
• Coordinate country-specific filings, payments, and reporting on time.
• Support year-end activities, audits, and other local payroll requirements.
• Maintain country-specific procedures, calendars, and contact lists.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Benefits, Tax, Treasury, and other teams on payroll matters.
• Identify root causes of recurring issues and drive corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.
• Share knowledge and provide backup support across assigned countries.
