Job summary

Ei Electronics is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join its R&D team in Shannon, Ireland. You will design, develop, test and maintain embedded software for life safety and connected home products, collaborating with Hardware, RF, Validation and Quality teams to deliver reliable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience developing embedded software for microcontroller-based systems.
• Knowledge of RTOS and embedded Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems and real-time software development.
• Experience with hardware-software integration and debugging tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for new and existing products.
• Develop software for microcontroller-based systems using C/C++.
• Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, and technical decisions.
• Implement and debug embedded applications, drivers, and system features.
• Support wireless technologies such as BLE, Matter, Thread, Wi‑Fi and RF protocols.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests.
• Investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Collaborate with Hardware, RF, Validation, Compliance and Manufacturing teams.
• Contribute to software quality initiatives and CI/CD practices.
• Maintain documentation and design records.
