The Lodge at Ashford Castle, part of The Red Carnation Hotel Collection, is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our Maintenance team in Cong, Co. Mayo.

This full-time role focuses on high-quality electrical maintenance across the hotel, ensuring safety and guest comfort while supporting daily operations. Ideal candidates hold an electrical qualification, hotel experience, and a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification required and relevant trade certification.
• Experience in hotel or high-end environment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible, hands-on approach and ability to support general maintenance duties.
• Ability to work flexible hours to meet operational needs.
• Team player with good communication and guest-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the hotel.
• Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with Management, Maintenance, Housekeeping and other departments to prioritise daily activities.
• Diagnose electrical faults and implement repairs to minimise downtime.
• Ensure maintenance work minimizes impact on guest experience and safety.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and display appropriate signage.
• Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, power tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment.
• Manage the maintenance store, ensuring stock levels and records are kept up to date.
• Assist with general maintenance duties and contribute to day-to-day hotel operations.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrician to join the Maintenance team at The Lodge at Ashford Castle. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and enjoys working in a dynamic hospitality environment. As a valued member of our Maintenance team, you will play an important role in ensuring our facilities, equipment, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards. Your expertise will help create a safe, efficient, and exceptional environment for both guests and colleagues, contributing to the outstanding experience for which The Lodge at Ashford Castle is renowned.

Location: Cong, Co. Mayo

Employment type: Full Time

Working pattern: 5 Days over 7 Days (including some weekends and Public Holidays)

Key Responsibilities as an Electrician

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the hotel, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and preventative maintenance across the property.
• Collaborate closely with Management, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and other departments to prioritise and coordinate daily maintenance activities.
• Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime and disruption to hotel operations.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed with minimal impact on guests, maintaining exceptional service standards at all times.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, displaying appropriate signage and maintaining a proactive approach to guest and colleague safety.
• Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, power tools, and other equipment in line with company policies and industry standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and secure work environment, including the proper storage of tools, materials, and any hazardous substances.
• Manage the maintenance store, ensuring stock levels, equipment, and records are maintained effectively.
• Assist with general maintenance duties and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel's facilities.
