Job summary

Jones Engineering in Cork is seeking an Electrical Quantity Surveyor (Transmission & Distribution / Renewables Division) to join the delivery teams on Irish renewable projects. You will provide commercial support across contracts and manage subcontractor accounts.

The ideal candidate has a third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics and at least eight years of post-qualification experience, with previous electrical industry exposure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics required.
• Experience in Renewable Energy / Transmission & Distribution is preferred but not essential.
• 8+ years post-qualification experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and monitor performance.
• Identify commercial risks and report promptly to management.
• Compile monthly progress applications with accurate remeasurements, variations, and day-works.
• Procurement support in conjunction with the Procurement Department.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to final account.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects.
• Provide commercial management and reliable reporting across projects.
• Identify and report trends within the business and projects.
• Review incoming correspondence to identify contractually critical items and draft replies.
• Mentor and support the wider Commercial Team on site.
• Carry out all other duties as required.
