Job summary

Cork-based client of Cpl Healthcare is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator with electrical estimating experience to join their growing team on a permanent basis. The role offers a transition from on-site electrical work to a commercial office setting with full training and mentoring.

You will review tender documents, prepare cost estimates for electrical installations, gather supplier quotes, support tender submissions, and help manage risks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in electrical estimating, or practical on-site electrical installation experience with a desire to move into an office-based commercial role.
• Solid understanding of electrical installations, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, or heavy industrial sectors would be advantageous, although not essential.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Fluent English and full legal authorisation to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical installation works.
• Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
• Prepare commercial pricing for electrical installations, including cabling, containment, and commissioning works.
• Obtain, evaluate, and manage supplier and subcontractor quotations to achieve the best commercial value.
• Support the preparation of tender submissions, cost analyses, and commercial evaluations.
• Identify potential project risks and contribute to value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain and develop the company's historical pricing and estimating database.
