Job summary

Dornan Engineering Group in Athlone is seeking an Electrical Foreman to lead and coordinate electrical crews on a pharmaceutical project. You will review drawings, ensure safety, and manage materials and on-site execution to meet schedule.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of supervisory experience on industrial or pharma sites, strong coordination skills, and a solid understanding of GMP and ATEX requirements. This full-time role is based in Athlone.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised electrical trade qualification and 3+ years supervising electrical installs in large industrial or pharma projects.
• Strong GMP, ATEX and pharma compliance knowledge.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and P&IDs and coordinate crews.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate electrical crews to complete installation safely, correctly, and on schedule.
• Review drawings, method statements, and permits with guidance to the team and engineers.
• Manage materials and equipment, ensuring timely ordering and on-site control.
• Monitor quality and compliance with GMP and Dornan QA/QC procedures.
• Drive safety performance, conduct toolbox talks, enforce LOTO and SOPs.

Electrical Foreman - Athlone

Dornan Engineering Group is aleading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in Athlone, Co.Westmeath, this is an excitingopportunity to join our growing Dornan team as an Electrical Foreman,supporting the delivery of our Pharmaceutical project.Due to thecontinuous growth with Dornan Engineering, we are currently looking looking to recruit experienced Electrical Foreman to join the company on exciting projects. Your day to day will include:

• Lead and coordinate electrical crews to ensure installation works (cabling, containment, terminations, panels, ATEX, etc.) are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
• Review drawings, method statements, and permits, providing guidance to the team and highlighting clashes or design issues to engineers and supervisors.
• Manage materials and equipment, ensuring timely ordering, tracking deliveries, and controlling use on-site to avoid delays.
• Monitor quality and compliance, carrying out inspections, ensuring adherence to GMP, pharma standards, and Dornan QA/QC procedures.
• Drive safety performance, conducting toolbox talks, enforcing LOTO and SOPs, and ensuring all works meet site safety regulations and client requirements.

About you:

• Recognised electrical trade qualification (e.g., QQI Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate) with a minimum of 3+ years' experience supervising electrical installation on large industrial or pharma projects.
• Strong understanding of GMP, ATEX, LOTO, and pharma compliance requirements, with proven experience delivering work in highly regulated environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop sheets, and technical documentation, ensuring accurate and compliant install.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, capable of directing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and resolving on‑site technical issues effectively.
• Up‑to‑date safety certifications (Safe Pass, Manual Handling, MEWP, plus supervisor-level safety training) and a strong track record in driving a positive safety culture.
• Experience working on Industrial & Commercial orPharmaceutical projects
• 2+ years postqualification experience
• Permanent position based in Athlone
