Job summary

Nicholas O’Dwyer Ltd. is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our MEICA design team in Ireland.

You will develop and deliver EICA designs for water and wastewater projects, coordinating with civil, mechanical, and process teams to ensure integration and high-quality outputs. The role requires a degree in electrical engineering and at least 3 years' relevant experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and instrumentation/automation systems.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of EICA engineering experience in consultancy/design.
Proven experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of power distribution, motor control, automation and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

Produce clear, well-structured reports and designs.
Lead and deliver EICA designs for water/wastewater facilities.
Prepare design deliverables: SLDs, Load Lists, Cable Schedules, Instrument Lists, I/O Schedules, PLC/SCADA/Telemetry architectures.
Support P&IDs, tender docs, and design reports.
Coordinate with civil, mechanical, process, BIM/CAD teams to ensure integration.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
Ensure compliance with Irish Water, WIMES, BS/IEC standards and regulatory engagement.
