Job summary

Jones Engineering in Ireland is seeking an Electrical BIM Modeller to join our project team in Co. Carlow. You will maintain and develop 3D BIM models (Revit MEP) and produce construction drawings, coordinating with disciplines and external partners.

The role requires hands-on experience with SolidWorks, Revit (MEP) and Navisworks, plus a degree in an engineering discipline. You will work on healthcare, construction, and facilities projects, with opportunities for professional growth and CPD

Qualifications

• Degree Qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Experience in Construction projects is advantageous.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Proven experience with BIM tools (SolidWorks, Revit, Navisworks) is desirable.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the existing model virtually, incorporating upgrade works and small projects.
• Produce detailed 3D BIM models in line with project requirements and client expectations.
• Ensure model aligns with BIM Execution Plan and project workflow criteria.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and coordinate design/document changes.
• Develop accurate construction drawings and data extraction from BIM models.
• Coordinate design documentation using BIM software and tools.
• Perform clash tests on MEP services (Navisworks) and coordinate resolutions.
• Attend meetings as needed and setup/Revit families/templates.
• Provide model support for M&E services and assist with changes on other sites.

Job Description

As an Electrical BIM Modeller, you will play a pivotal role in our project development and implementation process. You will work closely with the Electrical Project Team as well as a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts to deliver cutting-edge projects and maintenance works. Current requirements are primarily site based onsite in Co. Carlow.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintain the existing model virtually, incorporating all upgrade works and small projects.
• Produce detailed 3D BIM models in line with specific project requirements, that offer the best solutions to meet client expectations.
• Ensure that the model aligns with the standards and goals set in BIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow criteria.
• Collaborate and coordinate internally or/and externally with other disciplines design-changes and model changes.
• Develop accurate construction drawings and extract data based on the discipline BIM platform.
• Coordinate design documentation as a methodology with full utilisation of BIM software and tools.
• Coordinate and clash test on MEP services (Navisworks).
• Attend meetings when needed.
• Setup of additional Revit families and templates.
• Model supports for M&E services.
• Ability to Produce Electrical containment models.
• Assist with model changes on other small project sites when required.

This role will provide exposure to a wide range of expertise relating to healthcare, construction, and facilities sectors. The successful candidate will be supported in developing their knowledge and skills as their responsibilities grow and evolve.

Skills and Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Degree Qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Proven experience at SolidWorks (essential), Revit (MEP installations) and Navisworks – 1 year minimum
• Experience in Construction projects is advantageous, demonstrating your understanding of industry best practices and technologies.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office systems required.
• Demonstrated appetite for continuous learning and personal development.
