This is a senior, hands-on leadership position where you'll oversee EHS compliance, operational risk, contractor safety and continuous improvement within a technically complex, highly regulated environment.

You'll lead a team of two EHS professionals and work closely with operations, engineering, quality and senior management to strengthen safety standards, reduce risk and improve EHS performance.

We're looking for someone who can do more than manage compliance. You'll need the confidence to influence operational decisions, challenge unsafe practices constructively and help develop a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities
EHS Leadership & Operational Safety
  • Lead, coach and develop two EHS team members.
  • Provide practical EHS guidance to operational managers.
  • Promote safe working practices and accountability.
  • Oversee workplace risk assessments and high-risk activities.
  • Identify emerging hazards and ensure appropriate controls are implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish health and safety legislation.
  • Support environmental compliance and maintain oversight of legal registers.
  • Coordinate EHS audits and support regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain effective EHS documentation and procedures.
  • Ensure operations remain prepared for internal, client and regulatory reviews.
Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis.
  • Develop and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Review incident trends and identify opportunities to prevent recurrence.
Contractor Safety
  • Oversee contractor onboarding and EHS compliance.
  • Monitor safety requirements for high-risk contractor activities.
  • Review contractor performance and address compliance concerns.
  • Work with engineering, procurement and operations teams to maintain safe working standards.
  • Develop and implement EHS improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor safety KPIs, audit findings and corrective action progress.
  • Present EHS performance and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Support improvements to safety culture, reporting and operational practices.
  • Work collaboratively with quality and engineering teams in a GMP/GxP-regulated environment.

We're interested in experienced EHS professionals who can demonstrate:

  • Experience managing contractor safety and compliance.
  • Knowledge of root-cause analysis and CAPA.
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Ability to influence operational managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to safety management.

The original requirements seek approximately seven years' EHS experience, including leadership or management responsibilities. However, we'll also consider candidates whose experience demonstrates the capability required for the position.

A degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline is sought.
