Job summary

Baker Finn Recruitment is seeking a Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) professional for a leading Hazardous Transport & Logistics company in Ireland.

The role focuses on implementing and maintaining SHEQ standards across ADR, petroleum, and chemical handling sectors, including auditing and reporting responsibilities and supporting training initiatives.

Qualifications

  • The candidate will have a certificate, diploma or degree in Health and Safety or 5+ years relevant experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting site inspections

  • Assist with accident investigations
  • Ensure adherence to SHEQ standards
  • Participate in audits
  • Monitor PPE usage

  • Involvement in emergency response exercises
  • Report on safety/quality risks or opportunities
  • Coordinate Health & Safety Committees
  • Ad-hoc duties as required by Management

Job description

Role

A Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) position is available in a leading Hazardous Transport & Logistics company. The role will allow the candidate to develop their Health & Safety knowledge in the following transport and logistics sectors:

  • ADR – Road Tankers & Tank Containers
  • Petroleum Industry – Aviation & Retail
  • Emergency Response
  • Chemical Handling

The candidate must have experience with the relevant Health, Safety & Welfare Act 2005 & 2007 General Application Regulations and experience with relevant quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000) would be desired.

An understanding at any level of the following will have a distinct advantage: Hazardous Chemical awareness, ADR, COMAH (SEVESO), Auditing & TPED.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting site inspections

Skills and Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will have a certificate, diploma or degree in the field of Health and Safety or 5+ years relevant experience in the field
  • The successful candidate will have experience in quality systems such as ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO22000 would be an advantage
  • The successful candidate will have previous experience in auditing
  • The successful candidate will have fluency in written and spoken English
  • Emergency/Incident response experience an advantage
  • Previous experience in the Transport & Logistics industry a distinct advantage
