Job description

EHS Coordinator

National (field-based, travel required)

About the Role

Reporting to the Group EHS Manager, the EHS Coordinator takes ownership of the day-to-day running of Enet's health and safety programme. You'll keep our policies, records, audits, and reporting current and audit-ready, working closely with the Group EHS Manager on strategy, escalations, and sign-off.

It's a varied, hands-on role that combines audits and inspections, incident management, training, and day-to-day advice for teams across the business — with plenty of opportunity to make a visible difference to how safety is experienced on the ground.

Key Responsibilities
Training & Safety Culture
  • Identify training needs and keep accurate records of all health & safety training, working closely with HR.
  • Deliver health & safety induction programmes for new employees, contractors, and consultants.
  • Attend weekly toolbox talks with field teams and lead a monthly review of Group RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements).
  • Champion a proactive, positive safety culture in everything you do.
Incident & Risk Management
  • Maintain the risk register and coordinate incident reporting, near misses, and corrective actions — ensuring all incidents are logged within 24 hours of notification and escalated to the Group EHS Manager where needed.
  • Lead preliminary investigations within 48 hours using approved templates, and keep the corrective action tracker up to date.
  • Support root cause analysis and management review for significant incidents, working closely with the Group EHS Manager.
Audits & Compliance
  • Carry out internal audits and site inspections that help drive continuous improvement in safety culture.
  • Run inspections and interviews to check that PPE is correctly assessed, selected, and used.
  • Review and update at least one health & safety policy, procedure, or standard every month, in consultation with the Group EHS Manager.
  • Maintain the document control register, tracking revisions, approvals, and version changes.
  • Keep our Safety Statement, EHS plans, RAMS, and supporting documentation current, compliant, and audit-ready, with an annual review carried out alongside the Group EHS Manager.
  • Do the groundwork for our ISO accreditations — audits, evidence-gathering, and documentation — working closely with the Group EHS Manager, who holds overall accreditation ownership.
Reporting
  • Maintain health & safety metrics and track accidents/incidents for monthly board reviews.
  • Prepare monthly HSEQ performance reports that support business reviews and management decision-making.
Stakeholder & Facilities Support
  • Work with Fleet, Service Delivery, Facilities, Field Operations, and Contractors to gather the information needed for reporting and compliance.
  • Administer contractor and sub-contractor compliance across the Group, including client contracts and service agreements.
  • Support facilities-related matters, including lease agreements, and make sure monthly office audits are completed and reviewed.
  • Attend EHS and other relevant meetings as required, and stay current on changes in health & safety legislation.
What You'll Bring
  • A diploma or bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, or a related field.
  • A certification such as NEBOSH or IOSH is highly desirable.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and regulations.
  • Good analytical skills, with the ability to identify and assess potential risks.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excel and PowerPoint skills, and be comfortable with MS Office Suite.
  • A full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites nationwide.
  • A Manual Handling Instructor's course completed, or a willingness to undertake one.
  • Fire Warden Instructors / VDU Assessment Instructors course completed, or a willingness to undertake one.
  • Non-EU/EEA candidates must hold current, valid permission to work in Ireland (Stamp 4 or equivalent) at the time of application.
Skills & Competencies
Technical & Behavioural
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solid knowledge of health & safety legislation and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Safe-T-Cert and ISO standards.
  • A confident communicator who can explain complex information clearly and simply.
  • Able to stay calm under pressure and deliver accurate, time-critical work.
  • Reliable and self-motivated, comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and great attention to detail.
  • Comfortable giving clear direction and delegating tasks when needed.
  • Always looking for better ways of doing things.
