Job summary

Early Childhood Ireland invites applications for a Lead Afterschool Educator at Templeshannon Community & Childcare Centre in Enniscorthy. The role focuses on guiding an afterschool programme, creating a warm, nurturing space for children to unwind after school hours.

You will lead activities, plan crafts and outdoor play, and work closely with families and school staff to support children's wellbeing and development.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an Early Years or School Aged Childcare setting.
• Leadership experience is essential.
• Early Years qualification desirable but not essential.
• A genuine passion for working with children.
• A warm, positive and creative approach.
• Good communication and organisational skills.

Lead Afterschool Educator

Location: Templeshannon Community & Childcare Centre, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford

Hours: 17.5 hours Monday–Friday, 13:00–16:30

Pay: €16.50 per hour

Contract: Part-time, end of October 2026 – end of June 2027

At Templeshannon Community & Childcare Centre, our Afterschool service is a warm, welcoming place where children can relax and enjoy themselves after a busy school day.

We offer a fun and varied programme with plenty of opportunities for crafts, baking, reading, games, creative activities and outdoor play. Most importantly, we want children to feel happy, safe, valued and excited to come to Afterschool each day.

The Role
