We are recruiting a HGV Driver/ General Operative who holds a full C Class Ireland licence to join Colas Group to keep our roads safe and reliable. This is a hands-on role: while a valid driving licence is essential to transport yourself, crew and equipment between sites, the core of the job is practical maintenance work on the network — signing, barrier and drainage repairs, litter and vegetation control, emergency response and routine inspections. You will be expected to carry out physically demanding tasks, follow safety procedures and use basic maintenance tools, not just drive. In return we offer a competitive total package of €16.60 per hour plus subsistence allowance, overtime premiums, a €1,400 winter standby allowance for gritting work in peak times and a €4,160 on-call allowance. You must live within 30 minutes commute of Nenagh due to emergency attendance deadlines.
You must hold a full C Class Ireland driving licence. The role requires flexibility and adaptability to cope with a wide variety of tasks, participation in standby rotas to provide emergency cover 24/7/365 in line with Transport Infrastructure Ireland requirements, and be physical fit to carry out demanding manual duties. You should be able to work on your own initiative and support the emergency services during incident response operations. You should live within a 30 minute commute of Nenagh.
