Job summary

Pittman, now part of Bunzl plc, operates a distribution centre in Athy, Co. Kildare, serving Irish, UK, and international markets.

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Centre Supervisor to manage day-to-day DC operations, ensuring safe, accurate and efficient inbound/outbound flows while developing the DC team and implementing cost-saving improvements. Responsibilities include overseeing stock receipt and dispatch, coordinating with carriers, maintaining ERP data, and monitoring KPIs.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in warehouse or distribution-centre operations.
• Experience supervising, coordinating, or leading a team.
• Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems.
• Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to health and safety, compliance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily receipt, movement, storage and dispatch of stock.
• Ensure inbound and outbound orders are processed accurately and on time.
• Manage inventory and investigate stock discrepancies.
• Review purchase and sales orders to maintain visibility of stock.
• Liaise with carriers to support timely and reliable deliveries.
• Ensure ERP and warehouse systems contain accurate data.
• Supervise, train, and support DC employees while identifying development needs.
• Promote a safe, clean, organised and efficient working environment.
• Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
• Review warehouse layout and product flow and recommend improvements.
• Support order fulfilment and customer communications, including during team absence.
• Investigate and resolve customer and fulfilment issues promptly.
• Monitor DC KPIs, including inventory accuracy and safety.
