Job summary

The private surgical hospital in the Irish Midlands seeks an experienced Infection Prevention & Control specialist to lead IPC across the hospital. This is a genuine leadership role owning the IPC programme end to end: strategy, policy, surveillance, audit, outbreak response, education and accreditation.

You will chair the Infection Control Committee and report to the Quality & Risk Manager and Director of Nursing, influencing hospital-wide decisions.

Qualifications

Active NMBI registration on the General register.
Post-graduate IPC qualification (Level 9) or IPC specialist qualification with substantial experience.
Five or more years’ post-registration experience, with significant IPC specialist or CNM2 exposure.
Track record of leading IPC programmes, HCAI surveillance and audits in an acute setting.
Experience working with HIQA, CHKS or equivalent regulatory bodies.
Private hospital experience, antimicrobial stewardship and exposure to new builds or renovations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Lead IPC across the hospital and own the IPC programme end to end (strategy, policy, surveillance, audit, outbreak response, education, accreditation).
Chair the Infection Control Committee and report to Quality & Risk Manager and Director of Nursing.
Contribute to hospital-wide decision-making and governance on infection prevention.
