Job summary

TOM People is partnering with a fast-growing SaaS business in Dublin to appoint a Director of Finance Operations. You will lead accounting, reporting, compliance, and transactional finance across multiple entities, building a world-class finance function.

Reporting to the CFO, you will drive automation, optimise processes, and partner with leadership to support strategic growth and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of post-qualification experience including strong financial control and people management.
• Experience in SaaS, technology, or high-growth PE-backed environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function across multiple international entities, overseeing financial control, reporting, compliance, treasury, payroll, AP and AR.
• Own the monthly close, group consolidation and management reporting for executive/senior management.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide commercial and financial support to drive growth and performance.
• Lead external audits and oversee technical accounting matters across the group.
• Drive cash flow, treasury and working capital management.
• Support M&A and integration projects as the company scales internationally.
• Review key commercial contracts to ensure financial risk management and governance.
• Champion continuous improvement using technology, automation and AI-driven solutions to enhance reporting and controls.

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing organisation at a pivotal stage of its growth journey. Reporting into the CFO, you will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, enhancing operational excellence, driving automation initiatives, and building a world-class finance function.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, reporting, compliance, and transactional finance across multiple entities. You will lead a talented team while partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to support strategic decision-making and continued growth.

This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideally suited to someone who enjoys operating both in the detail and strategically. You'll be passionate about continuous improvement, leveraging technology and AI‑driven solutions to streamline processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive operational efficiency across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function across multiple international entities, with responsibility for financial control, reporting, compliance, treasury, payroll, AP and AR.
• Own the monthly close, group consolidation and management reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely insights for the executive team and board.
• Partner closely with senior leadership, providing commercial and financial support to drive growth and performance.
• Lead external audit processes and oversee all technical accounting matters across the group.
• Drive cash flow, treasury and working capital management across the business.
• Support M&A, integration projects and other strategic initiatives as the company continues to scale internationally.
• Review and support key commercial contracts, ensuring effective financial risk management and governance.
• Champion continuous improvement across the finance function, leveraging technology, automation and AI‑driven solutions to enhance reporting, controls and efficiency.

ABOUT THE PERSON:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
• 7-10 years PQE including strong financial control and people management experience.
• Experience within a SaaS, technology, or high‑growth PE environment.
• Demonstrated track record of driving process improvement initiatives and leveraging technology, automation and AI to build a scalable, best‑in‑class finance function.

Flexible working environment, with only one day per week required in the Dublin City Centre office.
