Job summary

Jobgether is partnering to fill a Director, Electrical Engineering role based in Europe, focusing on leadership of electrical infrastructure for AI facilities across regions. The role oversees standards, reference designs, and project execution from concept to energisation, shaping scalable power architectures for high-density computing.

The candidate will drive safety, reliability, and efficiency while balancing commercial priorities and delivering on a growing global data centre portfolio.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Chartered status preferred.
• Significant data centre electrical engineering experience with senior technical leadership.
• Expertise in data centre power distribution (MV/LV, UPS, standby gen).
• Experience developing design standards, reference designs, or basis-of-design docs for hyperscale data centres.
• Hands-on experience delivering high-density AI/HPC power infrastructure at rack level.
• Understanding GPU cluster power needs and dynamic load effects on facility design.
• Knowledge of electrical codes for data centres in Europe and North America (IEC, NEC).
• Strong commercial judgment balancing capex, schedules, reliability and performance.
• Excellent communication for technical and executive stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as electrical design authority across global portfolio from concept to energisation.
• Develop and maintain electrical design standards and basis-of-design docs.
• Contribute to reference designs for AI facilities balancing performance and cost.
• Own power architecture including UPS, energy storage, generation and distribution.
• Collaborate with teams to align facility power with rack/GPU requirements.
• Provide specialist electrical engineering support to active projects and resolve issues.
• Monitor AI hardware power trends and update standards accordingly.
• Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical/electrical teams for safe, timely delivery.
• Mentor engineers and grow the electrical team as pipelines expand.
• Report progress and risks to Senior Director of Infrastructure Engineering.
