Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Arts Management, Events Management, Communications, Media Management, Arts Education, or related disciplines.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional experience in arts management, cultural programming, event production, or student development.
• Leadership & Financial Acumen: Proven track record in leading teams, managing performance, and handling budgets, manpower, and resource allocation.
• Core Competencies: Strong creative conceptualization, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
• Industry Networks: Established professional contacts within arts, culture, creative, media, or events sectors.
• Personal Attributes: Excellent communication, adaptability, problem-solving, and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Translate strategic directions of SMU into meaningful out-of-classroom learning opportunities and oversee programme delivery.
• Provide portfolio-level oversight of the Arts Cluster including student clubs, frameworks, and festival participations.
• Lead strategies to nurture student artistic talent and leadership, mentoring managers and developing experiential platforms.
• Spearhead university-wide events such as SMU Arts Fest, Patron's Day, and the Academic Year Opening Ceremony.
• Lead budget planning, financial monitoring, and manpower deployment across clusters.
• Provide management oversight to build a high-performing team and drive staff development.
• Build strategic partnerships with artists, cultural organizations, government agencies, and industry partners.
• Collaborate with university leadership and schools to position the portfolios as distinctive contributors to SMU's brand.
• Other duties as assigned.
