Qualifications

• Experience with relational databases, preferably Ingres and/or VectorWise.
• Experience working in UNIX environments.
• Hands-on experience with Unit Testing and Integration Testing.
• Experience working with structured data formats including XML, JSON, text files, and RDBMS.
• Experience working within Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders, developers, testers, support teams, and management.
• Experience working in standards-driven enterprise environments.
• Exposure to NoSQL technologies such as Hadoop.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications using COBOL.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
• Work with relational databases, writing and optimising SQL queries.
• Develop, execute, and support unit and integration testing activities.
• Work within UNIX environments to support application development and deployment.
• Parse, manipulate, and process structured data formats including XML, JSON, text files, and RDBMS data.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, support teams, and business stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Ensure solutions comply with established development standards, governance, and quality processes.
• Support issue investigation, defect resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
