Job summary

Fortis Recruitment is seeking an experienced Designated Person for Fund Risk in Dublin to ensure the risk oversight framework is in place and adhered to. The role involves managing a team, ensuring compliance with UCITS and AIFM regulations, and delivering regular risk monitoring across the fund suite.

You will review investment manager reporting, escalate issues to senior management, and collaborate with Operational Risk to uphold policy standards while supporting growth of the risk function.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing UCITS/AIFM risk frameworks.
• Strong leadership and people development experience.
• Experience with risk metrics (VaR, tracking error, stress testing).
• In-depth understanding of investment risk and regulatory oversight.
• BI reporting experience using Tableau or Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Oversee funds' risk management in line with the company risk framework.
• Escalate material breaches of investment strategy and resolve promptly.
• Provide monthly/quarterly fund risk monitoring and reporting (credit, liquidity, counterparty risk).
• Review monthly reporting from the investment manager and escalate issues to senior management.
• Collaborate with DP for Operational Risk to oversee the full risk management policy.
• Complete due diligence visits to the IM and report to the board.
• Participate in quarterly UCITS and AIF Fund Board meetings.
• Lead and develop the risk management team.

Job description

UCITS Manager / AIFM based in Dublin is seeking an experienced Designated Person for Fund Risk to ensure the the framework for fund risk oversight is in place and adhered to but also have strong people management experience. The Role

• Responsible for ensuring funds under management as well as any IPM mandates are managed in accordance with the company's risk management framework.
• Be responsible for the oversight of the fund risk managerial function on a daily basis in accordance with the business plan. Also ensuring it's in line with UCITS and AIFM regulations.
• Ensure any breaches of investment strategy are acted upon and resolved immediately.
• Provide ongoing monthly/quarterly fund risk monitoring and reporting (credit, liquidity and counterpart risk) on the full suite of funds under management.
• Review monthly reporting from the investment manager. Escalate any material issues to senior management.
• Work collaboratively with DP for Operational Risk to oversee the full risk management policy.
• Complete due diligence visits to the IM and provide reporting to the board.
• Participate in the quarterly UCITS and AIF Fund Board meetings.
• Managing a team and being a leader in their professional development.

Requirements

• Must meet the minimum requirements for the Central Bank of Ireland fitness and probity riles in respect for a PCF holder.
• Significant experience in investment management industry.
• Private credit and real estate experience a plus.
• Fluid understanding of performance and risk measures such as VaR, tracking error and stress testing.
• Deep understanding of and technical expertise in funds from and investment risk and regulatory viewpoint.
• A background in Business Intelligence reporting on visual and data analytics using tableau, PowerBI.
• Systems experience with BlackRock Aladdin, FactSet and Bloomberg desirable.
