Job summary

Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in County Carlow is seeking a Deputy General Manager to lead the resort's management team and support the General Manager in F&B operations. The role requires strong leadership, strategic focus, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will oversee service standards, staff development, and cost management while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction across all outlets.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years’ experience in Food & Beverage Operations management.
• Standards driven; experience in high-end hospitality and event service delivery.
• People leadership and motivation with proven leadership of large teams.
• Strong communicator; contributes to overall hotel strategy.
• Ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
• Flexibility and a proactive approach are essential.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Management Team to ensure smooth resort operations day-to-day.
• Provide strategic support to the General Manager for F&B hotel operations.
• Lead, motivate, and communicate clearly to develop the team.
• Manage all areas within remit to ensure positive customer experiences and service culture.
• Develop and maintain systems, policies, and procedures for smooth running.
• Build relationships with customers and employees.
• Work various shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Assist in all Food & Beverage outlets as required.
• Oversee service planning, supervision, training, and guest assistance.
• Drive standards, continuous improvement, and staff development.
• Support profitability and cost management of the resort.
• Ensure departments operate according to standards and staffing levels.

Responsibilities:

• To lead the Management Team to ensure the smooth running of the resort operation on a day-to-day basis.

• Provide strategic support to the General Manager for F&Bhotel operations.

• Effectively lead, motivate, and communicate clearly in developing the team.

• Manage all areas within your remit to ensure positive customer experiences through the implementation of all standards and service culture.

• Maintain and develop systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the business.

• Responsible for effective relationship building with customers and employees.

• Available to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekend shifts including Public Holidays.

• To assist in all Food and Beverage Outlets across the Hotel as required.

• Responsibility whilst on shift, for all Food & Beverage areas to include planning and coordinating service, supervision and training of team members, cash handling and guest assistance.

• Be proactive and have a desire to develop standards and promote continuous improvement among employees.

• Lead the development and continuous learning of the resort staff.

• Support the profitability and cost management of the resort.

• Ensuring that each department is operating in accordance with the resort standards and staffing levels.

• Be courteous and professional and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service.

• Carrying out duty shifts and assisting in Reception, Accommodation and all Food and Beverage outlets when the need arises.

About the role

Requirements

• 3-4 years’ experience in Food and Beverage Operations management.

• Standards Driven; particularly in Food & Beverage with experience in high-end hospitality and event service delivery.

• Strong desire to progress and develop your career in hospitality .

• People leadership and motivation experience with proven leadership in managing through other managers and large teams.

• Strong communicator; and comfortable in contributing to the overall hotel strategy.

• Ability to build relationships and influence with all levels of the business.

• Flexibility and a proactive approach are a must in this role.

• Excellent communication and people management skills, enthusiastic and motivated.

• Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets and financial analysis.

• Ability to influence, lead from the front, and foster a positive team culture.

• Strong understanding of legislative compliance in a catering or hospitality setting.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
