Job summary

Impact Engineering Ltd, based in Dublin, invites applications for a DeltaV Area Lead – NPI Projects to support major pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical implementations. The role requires onsite presence of at least three days per week and leadership within the Automation NPI Project Team.

You will lead DeltaV activities, coordinate across SMEs and CQV teams, and ensure delivery of compliant, well-documented control strategies in a highly automated GMP environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related discipline.
• 7+ years’ Automation experience in Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical environments.
• 5+ years’ hands-on DeltaV experience in GMP facilities.
• DeltaV Lead/Area Lead/Senior Automation Engineer on capital or NPI projects.
• Strong DeltaV coding and ISA88/S88 batch architecture knowledge.
• Experience with commissioning, qualification, and startup activities.
• Understanding of Automation Compliance lifecycle, Change Management, and CSV requirements.
• Knowledge of GMP CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Act as the DeltaV Area Lead within the Automation NPI Project Team.
• Lead and coordinate DeltaV project activities across process areas.
• Collaborate with Process SMEs, CQV Leads, PMs, and Automation Engineers to define project requirements.
• Generate and review FDS, ACPs, and other project documents.
• Participate in design reviews, FAT/SAT activities, commissioning, and qualification support.
• Implement DeltaV code modifications per GMP requirements.
• Support schedule execution, issue resolution, and milestones.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Automation Engineers.
• Ensure GMP, Data Integrity, and CSV compliance throughout the lifecycle.
• Support operational readiness and handover to site operations.
