Job summary

Elwood Roberts - Your Trusted Recruitment Partner seeks a Data Center Technician in Tallaght Dublin to join the site team. You will be the primary contact for server repair and component replacement, troubleshoot complex hardware issues, and document technologies for knowledge sharing with junior staff.

You will perform remote administration where appropriate, automate tasks with scripts, and lead small projects under supervision to support large memory and CPU upgrades.

Salary: €30,000 Per year

Contract: 6-12 months

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to join our Data Center site team in Tallaght Dublin. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for internal partners such as server repair, component replacement.

As an Amazon Data Center Technician, you are a primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively passdown knowledge of these technologies to junior staff. You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and, where applicable, are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team.

You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary. You work autonomously to resolve most support issues. You are able to execute small projects on your own, and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects such as large scale memory and CPU replacements. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians.

You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Physical Capability: Ability to perform frequent manual handling, including lifting of materials and products.
• Technical Aptitude: Experience or familiarity with IT server and networking hardware, component testing, or disassembly. You should over 2 years experience working with IT Hardware, PC repair type work.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple internal teams and communicate status updates clearly.
• Attention to Detail: High commitment to safety, process consistency, and accurate record-keeping.
