Job summary

Noel Group is seeking an experienced Data Officer to join our client in Dublin 4 on a 6 month contract with potential extension. You will provide expert guidance on data protection, support regulatory compliance, and contribute to data protection frameworks and processes.

The role requires strong GDPR knowledge, a data protection qualification, and the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Hybrid working is available, and an immediate start is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a data protection or privacy-focused role.
• Relevant Data Protection qualification.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
• Proven ability to interpret legislation and provide practical, business-focused advice.
• Experience conducting or advising on DPIAs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating information governance and data protection risks.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on data protection requirements, risks, and compliance obligations.
• Review projects and new initiatives to identify and mitigate data protection risks.
• Act as a delegate for the Data Protection Officer (DPO) when required.
• Advise on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
• Support incident management and data breach response activities.
• Manage Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other data subject rights requests.
• Maintain and update the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Manage the Data Protection mailbox and respond to internal and external queries.
• Support file management and administration activities.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and review of data protection policies and procedures.
