Job summary

Centric Health is seeking an experienced Assistant Data Protection Officer to support the delivery of our data protection and information governance programme across a growing healthcare group in Ireland. This hybrid role covers Dublin with occasional travel to GP practices, focusing on GDPR compliance and data subject rights.

You will assist the Group DPO, manage Subject Access Requests, DPIAs, privacy policies, training, and supplier privacy reviews, while advising Practice Managers, GPs, HR

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in data protection, privacy, compliance, or information governance.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR.
• Healthcare, primary care, pharmacy, or health tech experience.
• Experience managing SARs, data breaches, and compliance investigations.

Responsibilities

• Support the DPO in maintaining and enhancing GDPR compliance framework.
• Manage Subject Access Requests, complaints, and other data subject rights requests.
• Investigate and manage personal data breaches and support notifications.
• Review DPIAs, privacy risks, and new projects.
• Draft and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
• Deliver GDPR training and GP practice visits to foster a culture of data protection awareness.
• Review Data Processing Agreements and supplier assessments.
• Provide practical privacy advice to Practice Managers, GPs, HR, IT, and operations teams.
• Conduct compliance monitoring, audits, and assurance activities.

Assistant Data Protection Officer

About the Role

Centric Health is seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Data Protection Officer to support the delivery of our data protection and information governance programme across a growing healthcare group.

This is an excellent opportunity for a privacy professional with healthcare or regulated-sector experience to play a key role in ensuring compliance with GDPR, supporting GP practices and business functions, and helping to protect the personal data of patients, staff, and partners.

About You

You will have:

• 3+ years' experience in data protection, privacy, compliance, or information governance.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR
• Healthcare, primary care, pharmacy, or health technology experience.
• Experience managing SARs, data breaches, and compliance investigations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and stakeholder management abilities.
• The ability to provide practical, risk-based advice in a fast-paced environment.
• Access to your own transport, full clean driving licence and willing to travel for GP practice visits.

Desirable

• Experience conducting DPIAs and supplier privacy reviews.
• Professional privacy qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CDPO, or equivalent.
