Job summary

The Ardonagh Analytics Lab in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland, seeks an experienced Engineering Team Lead to steer the Data Engineering function, shaping the data platform, architecture and engineering standards across our global analytics operation.

You will lead a team of data engineers, collaborate with data science and analytics colleagues, and drive data integration, governance and scalable solutions using Microsoft Fabric.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience working in Data Engineering, ETL development, systems integration and data warehousing environments.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and driving engineering best practices.
• Deep expertise in: SQL, Data Modelling, Data Warehousing, ETL Design and Development.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Java, Scala, R.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric or enterprise-scale data integration platforms.
• Knowledge of Data Quality Profiling, Metadata Management, Master Data Management, Data Cleansing and Standardisation.
• Strong understanding of BI strategies and how data platforms support analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Data Engineers, fostering excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance on engineering best practices, methodologies, tools, standards and delivery approaches.
• Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, coaching team members for growth and performance.
• Oversee the Microsoft Fabric data platform, ensuring scalable, secure and reliable solutions.
• Design and guide data integration strategies to support business growth and evolving analytics needs.
• Lead architectural discussions and governance forums for reusable, maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics and Visualization teams to ensure trusted data.
• Champion data governance, security and metadata management across the platform.
