Job summary

STS Group Limited is seeking an experienced Electrical Permit to Work Engineer to join our Frankfurt-based project team for a major data centre build. You will manage, issue and control PTW, LOTO, and safe isolation documents, coordinating with safety and commissioning teams to maintain safe electrical work across HV/LV scope.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will review RAMS, prepare risk assessments, deliver inductions, and lead audits to ensure compliance with EU and German regulations.

Qualifications

• Electrical/MEP craft qualification or degree with PTW experience.
• HV/SAP certification or equivalent electrical safety qualifications.
• Experience controlling PTW/LOTO on large data centre or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of EU/German electrical safety regulations.
• Strong communication and planning skills.
• Ability to manage high-risk activities under tight schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage, administer, and issue Electrical Permits to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Sanction for Test documents across the data centre build.
• Review RAMS, method statements, and switching schedules prior to issuing electrical permits.
• Perform site walks and inspections to verify safe isolations and ensure compliance with boundaries.
• Maintain the master PTW log and track active/suspended/closed permits.
• Support commissioning during energisation phases and ensure lockout/tagout procedures.
• Deliver PTW inductions and electrical safety toolbox talks to site contractors.
• Liaise with subcontractors, safe systems coordinators, and client operations teams daily.
• Attend daily work coordination and permit review meetings with project leadership.
• Perform internal electrical safe system audits to verify compliance with local regulations and STS Group standards.
