Job summary

Ace Express Freight is seeking a Customs Clearance Agent to join the customs team in Blakes Cross, Lusk, Co. Dublin. The role involves processing all customs documentation, reviewing queries, and supporting the team to maintain first-class service. The position offers permanent employment with a 6-month probation and a hybrid working option after probation.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in customs clearance, good English, and strong IT skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a customs clearance role
• Formal qualification in customs clearance desirable
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work at a fast pace
• Proficient PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Excellent level of English (oral and written)
• Export/Import T1/T2 Transit experience desirable

Responsibilities

• Complete and validate shipping and customs documentation
• Update internal systems and ensure compliance
• Liaise with carriers and customers for information
• Prepare and review Air Waybills, Bills of Lading, invoices and origin certificates
• Support freight forwarders with information gathering and ad hoc duties
• Process AIS/AES and CHED/TRACES entries and ENS declarations
• Handle T1/T2 departures/arrivals for TSF and ENS declarations
• Assist in month-end invoicing and reporting for customers
• Provide general admin support within Operations

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Customs Clearance Agent to join our customs team in Ace Express Freight. You will be part of an established team reporting directly to our in-house Customs Experts. You will be responsible for supporting the team in processing all customs shipments documentation and reviewing and resolving customs related queries. All customs administrative tasks must be completed efficiently and accurately to ensure our first in class service is not impacted. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong customs clearance knowledge.

Contract Type: Permanent (6-month probationary period).

Working Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Location: Blakes Cross, Lusk, Co. Dublin (option of hybrid working post probation).

Key Duties of the Role

• Completing and validating documentation
• Updating internal system
• Compliance control
• Prepare, review, and maintain shipping and customs documentation, including Air Waybills, Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin.
• Liaising with carriers customers for shipping information documentation
• Support the freight forwarders in gathering information or other duties
• Import Export customs ROI on AIS / AES and CHED/TRACES entries
• Import Export customs UK CDS entries
• Completing ENS (ICS2), GMR, PBN's
• T1/T2 departures arrivals for TSF
• TSS NI ENS declarations
• Creating invoices for month end billing for customers
• Declaring Bulk entries
• Complete reports for Customer Revenue
• Assist in follow up Compliance Testing
• Operational support
• Liaise provide completed documentation to Customer
• Assist in other functions within Operations on a project basis when requested.
• Provide general administrative support and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the customs function.

Essential Requirements

• 1-2 years in a customs clearance role
• Formal qualification in Customs Clearance desirable
• Excellent organisational skills and capable of working at fast pace,
• Strong PC Skills such as Excel / Word PowerPoint.
• Excellent level of English Oral and Written is required.
• Export/Import T1 T2 Transit experience desirable
