Job summary

Expeditors is seeking a Customs Documentation Coordinator in Ireland to manage clearance of freight documentation through customs authorities. You will guide customers on requirements in origin and destination countries and ensure compliance across procedures.

The role requires 1–2 years in customs brokerage or related education, strong Irish procedures knowledge, and solid IT skills with Word, Excel, and PC software.

Qualifications

  • Experience and Education: 1 - 2 years in Customs brokerage or relevant education.
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish customs procedures and systems.
  • Ability to relate to customers and internal staff at all levels.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Windows and standard PC software.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service to all customers.
  • Be the specialist for all customs compliance issues and resolve issues with customers.
  • Review and update policies, procedures and controls; ensure regulations are in place.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, risks or IT solutions to advance compliance.
  • Utilise Expeditors network to ensure a uniform approach across the region.

Job Description

Scope of Position:

To coordinate the clearance of freight documentation through the relevant customs authorities. Working with our customers to guide and advise on customs regulation requirements both in the origin and destination countries.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate the process customs clearance documentation for our customer base

Deal with the customs authority on a daily basis.

Deliver an excellent customer service to all customers.

Be the specialist for all customs compliance issues. Assist in resolving all issues with the
customer.

Assist in the review of all policies, procedures and controls put in place.

Ensure the relevant regulations are in place for all customers/business.

Identify Improvement Opportunities, Risks or IT Solutions which ensures the advancement
of compliance and installs control.

Develop & Utilise the Expeditors Network to ensure a uniformed approach throughout
the region and exchange best practices.

Work on assigned key account customers to ensure their needs are met

Continue to develop knowledge on customs requirements, ensuring new regulations are
understood and implemented where required

Ensure Duty/VAT is processed correctly & collected as required

Ensure any queries/refunds are followed up and resolved immediately

Review, update & Retain all DLSOP’s. Ensure they remain updated and implemented efficiently. Assist Sales & Account Management with cost saving solutions & options.

Complete daily, weekly audits on theall enteries

Ensure you keep up to date on the latest Customs Regulations updates & changes.

Develop and issue the training of new staff within the dept. Update all current staff with changes & updates.

Qualifications

Experience and Education:

1 - 2 years experience within the Customs brokerage Industry or relevant education essential

Excellent knowledge of Irish customs procedures & systems

Effective interpersonal skills.

Ability to relate to customers and internal employees at all levels

Previous experience with Word, Excel, Windows, Email, various PC based software
