Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the daily allocation of cranes, operators and supporting personnel.
• Manage crane hire schedule and respond to changing customer/operational requirements.
• Ensure appropriate cranes, personnel and lifting equipment are assigned to each project.
• Liaise with customers to confirm site details, access arrangements and project requirements.
• Communicate job details clearly to crane operators and other personnel.
• Coordinate crane movements and transport between depots and sites.
• Work with Lift Planners to ensure lift plans and RAMS are in place.
• Monitor crane and operator availability to maximise fleet utilisation.
• Prepare and maintain hire documentation, job records and schedules.
• Respond to operational issues, delays and last-minute changes.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and safety requirements.
• Support other hire desk team members.

Crane Hire & Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a Crane Hire & Logistics Coordinator to work on the day-to-day management of crane hire operations with our team. This is an office-based role in our Wexford depot near Gorey involving the efficient allocation of cranes, operators and supporting resources across projects throughout Ireland.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers, crane operators, Lift Planners, yard personnel and management to ensure that all jobs are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Planning and coordinating the daily allocation of cranes, operators and supporting personnel
• Managing the crane hire schedule and responding to changing customer or operational requirements
• Ensuring the appropriate cranes, personnel and lifting equipment are assigned to each project
• Liaising with customers to confirm site details, access arrangements and project requirements
• Communicating job details clearly to crane operators and other operational personnel
• Coordinating crane movements and transport requirements between depots and customer sites
• Working with Lift Planners to ensure the required lift plans and RAMS are in place
• Monitoring crane and operator availability to maximise fleet utilisation
• Preparing and maintaining accurate hire documentation, job records and schedules
• Responding to operational issues, delays and last-minute changes
• Ensuring operations comply with company procedures and relevant health and safety requirements
• Supporting other members of the hire desk team

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in crane hire, plant hire, transport, logistics or a similar operational environment
• Strong planning, scheduling and resource-allocation skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple jobs and manage changing priorities
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous but are not essential for a candidate with the right operational experience and attitude:

• Knowledge of lifting operations and construction site activities
• Experience managing subcontractors and external suppliersFamiliarity with hire contracts, job sheets and operational documentation
• Experience using scheduling or hire-management systems
