Job summary

Prosper Fingal in Piercetown, Skerries, Co. Dublin, seeks a Social Care Worker for our Day Services.

This permanent, 35-hours-per-week role focuses on supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and autism to live full, meaningful lives, promoting independence, choice and participation in the local community. You will work with a dedicated team to provide high-quality, person-centred supports, build relationships with the people we support and their families, and help individuals achieve

Qualifications

• CORU registration as Social Care Worker is essential.
• QQI Level 7 or 8 in Social Care (or equivalent) is required.
• Full, clean manual driving licence is desirable.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and IT skills required.
• Experience in disability services is desirable.
• Knowledge of New Directions is advantageous.
• Positive, person-centred approach and commitment to helping people achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with intellectual disabilities and autism.
• Support people to build independence and develop everyday living skills.
• Encourage participation in community, social, creative and recreational activities.
• Assist individuals to identify and work towards personal goals.
• Promote inclusion and meaningful participation in community life.
• Build positive relationships with people supported, their families and colleagues.
• Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
