Job summary

Morgan McKinley Cork is seeking a Qualified Accountant with 4 years of PQE and Irish practice experience to lead a small accounting team. You will mentor staff, manage client portfolios, and ensure timely, compliant delivery of financial statements, VAT, CT, and personal tax filings.

You will also provide proactive tax planning advice, oversee audits, and maintain strong client relationships while upholding quality and professional standards within a growing team.

Qualifications

• 4 years PQE (post-qualification experience).
• Irish Accounting Practice experience essential.
• ACA/ACCA qualified finance professional.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and trainees.
• Workflow allocation, monitor deadline tracking, and ensure team productivity and quality control.
• Act as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients, building and maintaining long-term relationships.
• Address client queries promptly, providing expert advice on day-to-day financial, VAT, and tax matters.
• Oversee statutory accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Review and submit complex VAT returns, ensuring full compliance with tax legislation.
• Prepare and review Corporation Tax computations and Personal Tax filings.
• Provide proactive tax planning advice to clients where appropriate.
• Manage a small selection of client audits from initial planning through to field completion and partner review.
