Job summary

Gilbert-Ash Limited is seeking an experienced professional to ensure surveying functions are efficiently carried out on allocated projects and to extract all available profit. You will liaise with Estimating, Purchasing and site teams to procure subcontract packages, conduct feasibility and risk analyses, and manage cost control across multiple packages.

The role requires strong contract administration, experience negotiating with subcontractors, and a track record of producing detailed cost

Qualifications

• Degree in Surveying/Quantity Surveying or related subject (minimum).
• Postgraduate Surveying qualification preferred.
• Project Management qualification desirable.
• RICS Chartered Membership required or in process.
• CIOB accreditation advantageous.
• CSR or CSCS card required.
• COSHH accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Estimating, Purchasing, Contracts/Project Managers regarding subcontract procurement to meet deadlines and advise on market intelligence.
• Examine contracts documents, perform feasibility studies and risk analyses.
• Ensure timely sharing of information across teams and with clients.
• Analyse and select potential subcontractors from tender documents and cost packages.
• Organise division of work packages to subcontractors and manage tendering and reporting.
• Prepare and submit sub-contractor orders and ensure schedule compliance.
• Coordinate with site management on variations, cost control, waste management and instructions.
• Prepare and submit payments, valuations, and cost appraisals for subcontractors.
• Close out sub-contractor contracts and capture performance ratings.
• Maintain stakeholder relations with Clients/Design Teams and other parties.
• Keep comprehensive records for traceability and monitor planning conditions (local spend, procurement).
• Uphold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 procedures and CPD commitments.
