Job summary

Trust in SODA is seeking a Senior QA Engineer (Contractor) to join a high-performing team building real-time, high-availability payment systems. The role is hands-on and requires ownership to improve quality from day one.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in test automation (web/API/distributed systems), UI testing, integration testing, performance testing, SQL validation, mocking, CI/CD, and production-grade practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software testing/QA experience.
• Strong test automation for web apps, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on Java experience.
• Experience with Cucumber.
• REST API testing proficiency.
• SQL Server / SQL proficiency.
• TestNG experience.
• Experience with Postman.
• Mocking/service virtualization tools (WireMock/Mountebank).
• Performance testing tools (JMeter).
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Version control with Git/Bitbucket.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Elastic/Kibana or similar monitoring/log analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and suites for web, API, and service-based applications.
• Build and maintain robust automated regression coverage for API, integration, and end-to-end workflows.
• Validate quality in low-latency, highly available systems with a focus on stability and production readiness.
• Collaborate with developers, product teams, DevOps, and QA engineers to ensure quality outcomes across teams.
• Drive defects and quality issues to resolution with ownership.
• Contribute to test strategy, quality standards, release confidence, and continuous improvement.
• Review test coverage to identify quality gaps, flaky tests, test data issues, performance risks, and automation opportunities.
• Support production validation, issue triage, and root cause analysis.
