Job summary

Company Details Confidential in Ireland is seeking a Proposals Engineer to join our team across multiple locations, including Loughrea, Co. Galway. The role covers tender preparation, detailed take-offs, RFQ development, and coordination between engineering disciplines.

You will also prepare method statements and liaise with clients and suppliers to ensure competitive bids. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering and at least five years of relevant

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineer.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Prepare Tender and Pre-qualification documents.
• Carry out detailed take off of materials and equipment.
• Compile RFQs and secure detailed responses from suppliers.
• Develop detailed designs and bills of quantities.
• Prepare submissions including bid writing and document review.
• Liaise between Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Structural designers.
• Prepare Method Statements and procurement following take-off.
• Assess RFQs and create supplier/sub-contractor comparisons.
• Liaise with clients to ensure requirements are met.

Education

Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineer

Level 6 qualification (incl Higher Advanced Certificate & National Craft Certificate)

The main duties and responsibilities of the Proposals Engineer are outlined as follows:
Preparation of Tender and Pre-qualification documents to secure future work
Carrying out detailed take off of materials and equipment
Compiling RFQs (Request for Quotation) and ensuring a detailed response from suppliers
Developing detailed designs
Developing bills of quantities
Preparation of submissions including detailed bid writing and reviewing of documents prior to submission
Liaising between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers
Preparation of Method Statements
Liaising with suppliers and conducting Procurement following detailed take-off
Assessing received RFQs and creating comparative maps to aid in the selection of suppliers and sub-contractors
Liaising with Clients

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the are outlined as follows:
Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineer
Minimum 5 years’ experience on a similar role
Good time management
