Job summary

Glanua is seeking a Proposals Engineer to prepare tenders, conduct material take-offs, and compile RFQs for supplier responses. The role involves coordinating between mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural design teams to develop detailed designs and bills of quantities.

Key duties include bid submissions, procurement liaison, and supplier comparison analyses to inform selections, with a Monday–Friday schedule and opportunity to contribute to a growing organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Role: Proposals Engineer

Location Base: Head Office, Loughrea, Co.Galway

Salary: Competitive

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparation of tender and pre-qualification documents to secure future work
• Carrying out detailed take off of materials and equipment
• Compiling RFQs (Request for Quotation) and ensuring a detailed response from suppliers
• Developing detailed designs
• Developing bills of quantities
• Preparation of submissions including detailed bid writing and reviewing of documents prior to submission
• Liaising between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers
• Preparation of method statements
• Liaising with suppliers and conducting procurement following detailed take-off
• Assessing received RFQs and creating comparative maps to aid in the selection of suppliers and sub-contractors
• Liaising with clients

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Good time management
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
