Job summary

Glanua in Ireland is seeking a skilled MEICA/Mechanical Engineering Project Lead to drive multi-disciplinary project delivery on water and wastewater facilities. You will coordinate clients, design teams, contractors and suppliers, and oversee BIM/CAD workflows to produce installation drawings aligned with the programme.

The role requires at least 5 years on multidisciplinary MEICA teams, strong leadership and safety knowledge, plus experience with Navisworks, BIM/CAD and Primavera.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in MEICA or with a recognised Mechanical/Electrical contractor in a similar environment
• B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent third level qualification
• Experience in design, construction and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment facilities is highly desirable
• Experience within industrial or pharmaceutical environments would be advantageous
• Strong practical experience managing and coordinating teams within a construction site environment
• Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and site compliance requirements
• Strong knowledge of piping and mechanical pipework systems
• Proficiency in Navisworks, BIM/CAD systems and Primavera
• Excellent organisational, planning and workload prioritisation skills
• Strong negotiation, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering project delivery with stakeholders including clients, design teams, main contractors, suppliers and subcontractors
• Review and become fully familiar with project design specifications, IFC drawings and overall scope
• Oversee BIM coordination to transform design information into installation drawings while ensuring compliance and priorities
• Ensure deliverables align with project programme and schedules
• Manage technical submittals, approvals and design coordination activities
• Ensure all mechanical installations meet project specs, QA procedures and benchmarking standards
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain information flow and progress as per programme
• Lead project coordination, progress and client meetings as required
• Promote innovative engineering practices and efficient delivery processes
• Assist in preparation and agreement of project completion criteria and close-out documentation
• Prepare subcontractor and supplier tender packages with Project Quantity Surveyor
• Manage work pack process from development through implementation to handover
• Coordinate BIM priorities including isometric generation and release schedules
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards

Job Description

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent third level qualification.
