Job summary

Glanua Limited is seeking a Proposals Engineer for a permanent, full-time position in the Galway region. The role is based on-site in Loughrea, with responsibilities spanning tender / pre-qualification, cost take-offs, RFQs, Bills of Quantities, bid submissions, and cross-discipline coordination.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in similar roles and strong MS Office skills; time management is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineer.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience on a similar role.
• Good time management.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Prepare tender and pre-qualification documents to secure future work.
• Carry out detailed take-offs of materials and equipment.
• Compile RFQs and ensure detailed supplier responses.
• Develop bills of quantities.
• Prepare submissions including detailed bid writing and review.
• Coordinate between Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Structural Designers.
• Prepare method statements.
• Liaise with suppliers and conduct procurement.
• Assess RFQs and compare suppliers and subcontractors.
• Liaise with clients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties and responsibilities of the Proposals Engineer are outlined as follows:

• Preparation of Tender and Pre-qualification documents to secure future work
• Carrying out detailed take off of materials and equipment
• Compiling RFQs (Request for Quotation) and ensuring a detailed response from suppliers
• Developing bills of quantities
• Preparation of submissions including detailed bid writing and reviewing of documents prior to submission
• Liaising between Mechanical & Electrical Designers and Civil & Structural Designers
• Preparation of Method Statements
• Liaising with suppliers and conducting Procurement following detailed take-off
• Assessing received RFQs and creating comparative maps to aid in the selection of suppliers and sub-contractors
• Liaising with Clients

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
