Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Construction Procurement Manager to lead purchasing from an Edenderry base. You will manage materials, plant and equipment across multiple projects, ensuring value, continuity and compliance with safety requirements.

Working closely with Estimators, Finance and operations, you will negotiate terms, manage supplier performance and drive cost savings while maintaining supply continuity and reporting for month-end processes.

  • Strong supplier negotiation and contract terms skills.
  • Proven ability to reduce costs and improve value.
  • Experience across multiple projects and sites.
  • Knowledge of Irish construction market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing across construction materials, plant and equipment.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates and terms.
  • Provide accurate material pricing for plans and tenders.
  • Support tendering with costings alongside Estimators.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers and distributors.
  • Identify alternative suppliers for value and continuity.
  • Monitor supplier performance and delivery times.
  • Track project spend and maintain cost reports.
  • Oversee inventories and purchasing systems for improvements.
  • Ensure materials meet safety and environmental requirements.
  • Provide procurement data to Finance for month-end reporting.

CONSTRUCTION PROCUREMENT MANAGER

An established construction business is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead purchasing and procurement activities from its Edenderry base. This is a commercially focused role covering construction materials, plant and equipment, with responsibility for supplier performance, cost efficiencies and supply continuity across multiple projects and sites. You will work closely with project, estimating, finance and operational teams to ensure procurement decisions support both project delivery and commercial performance.

About Your New Job

As Procurement Manager, you will:

  • Lead purchasing and procurement activities across construction materials, plant and equipment.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors, securing competitive quotations and commercial terms.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates and terms to deliver procurement cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Provide accurate material pricing for project plans, drawings and tender submissions.
  • Work closely with Estimators during tendering to support accurate project costing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with preferred suppliers and distributors.
  • Identify alternative suppliers to improve value, availability and supply continuity.
  • Monitor supplier reliability, performance and agreed delivery times.
  • Track project spend and purchasing activity and maintain accurate cost reports.
  • Control inventories and oversee purchasing systems, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure materials and services meet relevant safety, health and environmental requirements.
  • Provide procurement and purchasing information to Finance to support month-end reporting.
What You Need
  • Strong procurement and purchasing experience, ideally covering construction materials, plant and equipment.
  • Strong commercial and supplier negotiation capability.
  • Knowledge of the Irish constructionmarket.
  • Experience sourcing, evaluating and managing suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Experience managing material pricing and procurement requirements across multiple projects.
  • Strong cost-control, spend-tracking and reporting capability.
  • Experience managing purchasing systems and inventory controls.
  • Ability to work effectively with Estimating, Finance and operational teams.
  • Strong supplier relationship management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing purchasing requirements and maintain supply continuity.
