Job summary

Falcon Green is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of major construction and engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for programme, cost control, safety, quality, commercial performance and client satisfaction while leading multidisciplinary project teams to achieve programme and financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related construction discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing large-scale construction or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contract administration, project planning, and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional membership, chartered status, or relevant health and safety qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, construction methodologies, logistics plans, and project execution strategies during both pre-construction and delivery phases.
  • Oversee project teams, including Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, subcontractors, and consultants, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems, ensuring statutory and contractual obligations are met at all times.
  • Manage project risk, design coordination, document control, and stakeholder engagement while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, implement corrective actions, and provide accurate reporting on programme, commercial performance, and project milestones.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, performance management, and coordination, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with contract requirements and programme objectives.
  • Maintain strong commercial oversight by supporting cost control, reviewing project expenditure, monitoring financial performance, and protecting contractual entitlements.
  • Oversee project commissioning, practical completion, defect management, final accounts, and client handover to ensure a successful project close-out.
  • Promote continuous improvement by implementing lessons learned, supporting team development, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance project culture.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Professional membership, chartered status, or relevant health and safety qualifications are advantageous.
