Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Group seeks a Consents Manager to own strategy, coordination and delivery of statutory approvals for a major rail programme. You will centralise consent activities, embed requirements into design and construction, and manage relationships with authorities and stakeholders across Ireland.

You will develop a risk register, maintain schedules, and drive compliance, ensuring timely approvals and issue resolution while collaborating with project teams and external advisers.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Planning, Environmental Management, Engineering, Law, or related field.
• Experience delivering consents on major Irish infrastructure projects, esp. Railway Order.
• Knowledge of Irish planning legislation, EIA processes and regulatory requirements.
• Established relationships with Irish local authorities, An Bord Pleanála and other bodies.
• Experience managing commitments registers and compliance tracking systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to operate in a complex, multi-stakeholder programme environment.
• Experience in rail or large-scale transport infrastructure is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain a unified Consents Strategy aligned to milestones.
• Lead planning and consent activities under Railway Order or equivalent frameworks.
• Maintain an integrated Consents Schedule with auditable records.
• Embed consent requirements into design, EIA and construction planning.
• Support discharge of planning conditions and compliance obligations.
• Lead MoUs with local authorities and statutory bodies.
• Develop a Consents Risk Register and report status, risks and issues.
• Coordinate with audits and external consultants as needed.
