About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Compliance Specialist / Consultant to join a leading healthcare organisation on an initial 3-6 month contract.
This is a hands-on role within the HR and Talent Acquisition function, supporting the organisation in ensuring recruitment and pre-employment processes are compliant, accurate and audit-ready.
We are looking for someone with strong practical experience in HR compliance, recruitment compliance, pre-employment screening or a similar regulated environment who can quickly step into the role and make an immediate impact.
This would suit an experienced HR professional, recruitment compliance specialist or compliance professional consultant who is immediately available or available at short notice and enjoys working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the HR and Talent Acquisition teams with day-to-day recruitment compliance activities.
- Manage and monitor pre-employment screening processes, ensuring all required checks are completed accurately and within required timescales.
- Coordinate checks including Garda Vetting, professional registrations, references, right-to-work documentation and international clearances.
- Review candidate files and documentation to ensure compliance requirements have been met.
- Maintain accurate, complete and audit-ready recruitment and employee records.
- Monitor outstanding checks and proactively follow up with candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Support routine compliance audits and identify any gaps or areas requiring attention.
- Provide practical guidance to HR and recruitment colleagues on compliance and pre-employment requirements.
- Ensure recruitment processes are aligned with relevant Irish legislation, GDPR, healthcare requirements and internal policies.
- Assist with the development and improvement of compliance processes, procedures, checklists and controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and consistency of recruitment compliance processes.
- Prepare compliance reports, trackers and management information as required.
- Support the HR team with compliance‑related projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Escalate complex or potentially high-risk compliance issues to the appropriate senior stakeholder.
About You
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and provide immediate support to the HR and recruitment function.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in HR, HR compliance, recruitment compliance, pre-employment screening, audit or a related area.
- Experience working within healthcare, social care or another regulated environment would be highly advantageous.
- Practical knowledge of Garda Vetting, professional registration checks, references, right-to-work requirements and GDPR.
- Experience managing or coordinating high-volume pre-employment screening processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation and compliance.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Good communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with candidates, HR colleagues, recruiters and hiring managers.
- Experience working with HRIS, ATS or other HR/compliance systems.
