Job summary

Delta Centre CLG is seeking enthusiastic Care Assistants to support adults with intellectual disabilities and autism in a person-centred respite service. You will help individuals pursue independence, choice and quality of life while delivering high-quality supports.

Responsibilities include getting to know each service user, following care plans, using communication systems, and building trusting relationships.

Qualifications

• A FETAC Level 5 qualification in Health Care.
• Experience in health care is essential.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping skills are required.
• Knowledge of The National Standards for Adults with Disabilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate empathy towards Service user and follow care plans.
• Get to know and pay attention to each Service user in your care.
• Follow behaviour support plans where relevant and be patient.
• Review and implement Care Plans and Person-Centered Plans for each Service user.
• Understand and facilitate needs through appropriate communication systems.
• Assist Service users in achieving independence and personal development.
• Establish trust through consistent, high-quality care and adhere to Delta Centres policies.
