Job summary

Autism A Chara in Stillorgan, Co. Dublin, is seeking a Community Access Facilitator to support individuals with complex needs in residential settings.

This full-time role (39 hours per week) requires a QQI level 7 Social Care qualification or a related degree and a clean driving licence to operate service vehicles. You will work on a rota including evenings and weekends, with access to development and progression opportunities, pension, sick pay, and leave entitlements.

Qualifications

• Experience in Social Care with people with complex needs is essential.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and night shifts.

Responsibilities

Essential criteria for the position of Community Access Facilitator:

• A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care/ Studies or relevant 3rd Level Qualification at degree level i.e.; Social Work, Psychology is essential, (or relevant qualification received outside the state recognised by NARIC equivalent to Irish level 7).
• At least six month's recent experience working in the Social Care field supporting people with complex needs
• Availability to work shifts on a rota basis including evenings and weekends and waking night duty shifts
• Full, clean Irish driving licence essential with requirement to drive service vehicles
• Permission to work in Ireland essential

Qualifications required for a Community Access Facilitator:

• A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care/ Studies or relevant 3rd Level Qualification at degree level i.e.; Social Work, Psychology is essential, with at least six month's recent experience working in a Social Care field supporting people with complex needs

Skills/Abilities required of a Community Access Facilitator:

• Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
• Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism
• Proven ability to work on own initiative
• Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP’s
• Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities
• Delivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan
• Fluent English and excellent communication skills
• Full clean Irish driving licence essential with requirement to drive service vehicles
