Job summary

Autism A Chara is seeking a dedicated Facilitator to support people with complex needs in our service. A QQI Level 5 Health/Care award is essential, with a person-centred approach to planning and daily living activities.

The role requires shift work on a rota, a full clean Irish driving licence is desirable for vehicle duties, and you must have permission to work in Ireland. This is a Specific Purpose Contract supporting meaningful community involvement.

Qualifications

A full QQI level 5 Health Care Qualification is essential.
Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
Awareness of Key Worker/ Support Worker Role and philosophy around supporting people with complex needs.

Responsibilities

Learn about the person: what they need and what is important to them.
Adapt communication style to suit individual needs.
Be fun, engaging, patient and kind.
Assist with daily living activities and routines including personal care.
Support engagement with the community and help learning new skills.
Help the person understand their rights and participate in decisions.

Qualifications required for a Facilitator:

A full QQI level 5 Health Care Qualification is essential, (e.g. health, community, care sector) but a genuine passion for providing person centred support is key to being successful in the role of a Facilitator.
