Job summary

GN Group is seeking a Commis chef to support the kitchen team at Ballykisteen, Limerick Junction, Co. Tipperary. The role involves assisting with preparation, cooking, and presentation while upholding high culinary standards.

You will work closely with chefs to ensure smooth service, maintain hygiene, and contribute to stock control. Previous hotel experience and HACCP training are preferred, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• HACCP trained and hygiene-focused.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of dishes in line with hotel recipes and quality standards.
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, including maintaining clean and organised workstations.
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness are followed at all times.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
• Help monitor stock levels and assist with stock rotation and kitchen organisation.
• Maintain consistency in food preparation, presentation, and portion control.
• Take part in ongoing training and development to build culinary skills and knowledge.
• Support the Head Chef and senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and menu preparation.

As a Commis chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the chefs in the smooth functioning of the kitchen operations. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes while maintaining high culinary standards. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure the efficient execution of recipes and the overall quality of the food.
