Job summary

Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our luxury 5-star kitchen team. You will assist with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes and help maintain HACCP standards.

The ideal candidate has kitchen experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to food safety and cleanliness. This on-site role offers meals on duty, parking, and employee accommodation benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience
• Understanding of HACCP procedures
• Eligibility to work in Ireland

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of dishes to the highest standard.
• Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and handled in accordance with HACCP and food safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area at all times.
• Assist with stock rotation, stocktaking, and checking deliveries when required.
• Support the Head Chef, Sous Chefs, and wider kitchen team with daily food preparation and service.
• Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation standards while helping to minimise food waste.
• Assist with food preparation across different sections of the kitchen as required.
• Continue to develop culinary techniques and skills through ongoing training and learning opportunities.
