Job summary

The Slieve Russell Hotel Golf & Country Club is seeking a Commis Chef to join the team in a busy, four‑star kitchen. You will assist in preparing and cooking a range of dishes, while upholding high standards and following recipes and safety guidelines.

We welcome applicants with a passion for food, a positive attitude, and the willingness to learn. Training is provided, and there are opportunities for progression within a renowned hospitality group.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and cooking of high‑quality dishes across kitchen sections
• Ensure dishes meet recipes and guidelines for quality and consistency
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in line with food safety regulations
• Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and prep tasks
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to Kitchen Management
• Contribute to delivering an outstanding guest experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes across various sections of the kitchen.
• Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards, following recipes and guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations.
• Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Kitchen Management.
• Uphold the hotel's commitment to delivering an outstanding guest experience.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef or a culinary qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Passion for food, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
