Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Commercial Director for a leading nationwide construction company operating across Ireland. The role leads a 15+ strong commercial team and oversees all commercial and contractual aspects of projects nationwide.

The position requires a Quantity Surveying background with extensive senior leadership experience, strong procurement and cost-control skills, and proven stakeholder management at board level. Hybrid working options are available across Ireland.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Extensive construction industry experience in a senior commercial leadership role.
• Proven experience leading large commercial teams.
• Strong understanding of contracts, procurement and cost management.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic commercial leadership across the business and its nationwide operations.
• Lead, develop and mentor a team of over 15 commercial professionals.
• Oversee all commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
• Drive commercial performance, profitability and cost control across the business.
• Establish and implement commercial processes, procedures and best practices.
• Work closely with senior leadership and operational teams to support business growth.
• Manage commercial risk, procurement strategies, contractual negotiations and financial reporting.
• Ensure consistency and excellence in commercial delivery across all regional offices.

We are working alongside a leading Irish contractor who are looking an experienced Commercial Director to join a well-established, nationwide construction business with offices across Ireland.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an ambitious commercial professional with a strong Quantity Surveying background and a proven track record of managing large commercial teams and driving commercial performance within the construction industry.

Leading a team of 15+ commercial professionals, you will take responsibility for the overall commercial strategy and performance of the business, providing leadership, direction and oversight across a diverse portfolio of projects nationwide.

About your role as a Commercial Director
